To change bluetooth headset modes.
List connected devices:
pactl list cards |grep Name
From the list, it’s usually the one that starts with bluez_card.
To change modes, these are the commands, this one for A2DP audio mode:
pactl set-card-profile bluez_card.28_11_A5_DD_AD_E4 a2dp_sink
And to set it to microphone enabled mode:
pactl set-card-profile bluez_card.28_11_A5_DD_AD_E4 headset_head_unit
I’ve experienced that in Ubuntu 21.10 with a ThinkPad hub, that profile doesn’t work. So I search for profiles that work:
pacmd list-cards
This lists the profiles of what’s connected, and changing headset_head_unit to handsfree_head_unit has worked for me.
